Disney's First Black Princess

Anika Noni Rose is the Tony award winning singer/actress from Bloomfield, Connecticut currently most famous for playing the character of Lorrell Robinson in the popular 2006 movie Dreamgirls.

Anika has already starred in many plays and movies. Now she is about to make history as Disney’s first Black Princess.

Anika will be the voice of Tiana, in The Princess and the Frog, one of Disney’s newest animated films that is currently in the works. The film is expected to take place in 1920’s New Orleans. The film’s scheduled release date is in 2009.
