And thats whats up!
Healthcare reform, but on a WHOOOOOLE NUTHER LEVEL!
 Lord only knows why it takes
The President of The United States of America, to confirm that I am not alone in my thoughts about things.
It is what it is, and what it is is __________(fill in the blank).
 If you want to get to the meat of the matter as I often need to, I do tend to find it useful to go ahead and bring out some dialog from  popular  movies and T.V. shows that many have seen and can relate to, to bring my point home in the realest way possible, so on that note, Obama used his star power to bring it home with an interestingly similar and identifiable character, and no,  its not the guy from the  hit T.V. Show 24, as he aint light skinned!

Another point of interest and similarity in stance stems from the very first statement in the video below.

At some point in the near future, I believe that the winners and loosers will be decided by what side of the line they stand or fall on in regards to the subject of CHANGE.

Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. was arrested for disorderly conduct for verbally thrashing the police officers who were responding to a robbery call, after the point in which he was already in his own home after officers arrived to investigate and produced identification to prove his residence, President Obama responded by stating that although change and progress has been made with himself as an effective testimonial, the incident still reflects a scenario which still haunts us as a society.

When it comes to the haunting, I would now question who’s haunting deserves the greatest amount of fear, an African American or Latino male who may be racially profiled by law enforcement, or the law enforcement officers and city officials who may soon come to the revelation that the profiled suspect is actually an associate or relative of the current President Of The United States, which would be able to notify the entire world of the incident in question, then make a few calls or send a few text messages so that the children in that same part of the country would find it useful to discover heads rolling around on the ground to enjoy an old fashioned game of kickball with?

I have to empathize with the officers in question, because while its most likely not his intention, Professor Gates, does look almost identical to

Yet and still, he plays the part of a detective on the T.V. show
Law & Order, so that takes the story to an even deeper level.

In closing, my advice to those who desire greater government transparency would be to first ask if they are truly prepared to embrace what it is that they are asking to see and be made aware of, because at the end of the day, change is in full effect, which seems to be good news for some, and other than good news for others.

Good Vibrations- A Blast From The Past

If you have been following along for long enough you already know the rules, which state that if there is a lack of GOOD NEWS, the best course of action is simply to CREATE some.

With that said, I decided to set the clocks back to the year in which this commercial for Sunkist soda was made, which was in 1984.

I have this theory that states that human beings actually do come equipped with a system restore application which is where the developers from Microsoft borrowed the idea from to use in their operating systems. What this allows is for you to set your system back to a date and time when things were functioning according to your own definition of better functionality , known as
Last Known Good Configuration.

In the name of effective brand building, I have simply cycled back to a time when positivity actually sold and was attractive and it is due to my stance in life , which is that while negative experienced results can be a cause of negative attitudes and behaviors, the reciprocal is also correct, which is that negative attitudes and behaviors are the cause of negative experienced results.

Since the one that is easiest to grab a hold of, at least for me, are my attitudes and behaviors, I simply grab hold and arrange them to be in alignment with the end results of my choosing. I then make use of the advancements of time by using the technology and adding in some color to make it congruent with the multi ethnic cast of characters that currently exists in the world at large who are also seeking the like.
Push the buttons, restart the system, and OJALA , it is!

Total Recall- California Budget Cuts

Wheter its good news or bad news, is based on your viewpoint, yet I am simply doing my duty, which is to report the news.

In a long awaited process of legislative executive decision making, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger along with law makers in
The Golden State have decided to just say no to tax increases in these trying economic times in which California probably ranks highest in regards to state fiscal woes.

The decision has also been made simultaneously, to cut spending in mass amounts on public service initiatives in the areas of
public and higher education, health care, and government assistance programs.
It is know across the board that California is usually the catalyst for change in the United States, and the trends that begin here will begin to spread to other states in the union and on to the other nations of the world.

If the taxes are raised, the citizens will complain, and if the spending is cut, the citizens will complain, so it appears to be a choice between which accepted complaints are in the best interest of the public at large as well as the private sector who may stand to see some increase in profit with the demand now being served by private institutions, similar to what we see with the privatization of the prison system in California.

What is really going on?
This is the question that some may be asking and the honest truth is that I cant say for certain, not because I dont know, but rather, because I cannot say. What I will say is that I think it will ultimately boil down to supply and demand which is simply based on individual and group priorities.

For example, I became aware of this decision through watching the news reports on the Good Day L.A. news show on Fox, regarding protests at universities, as there are proposed cuts in the area of $3 billion dollars in the area of higher education, and $6 billion in cuts for public education. If education is not a high priority for the citizens of a state or nation, then what is?

From the looks of it, it appears that material items such as

are highest on the list, at least in California.

When it comes to supply and demand, at this point in
American Society, the consumption of goods and services that may make one appear to others as on a status of prosperity, outweigh the demand for education and wellness, which once aquired, cannot be repossesed or foreclosed upon.

My line of thinking in regards to this matter stems from
the fact that large scale

which lend finacnes and issue credit  for many of these items actually have recieved more federal government tarp money and bailout funding  along with some large scale

private corporations
that produce these goods and services , than the entire amount of debt owed to creditors by the State of California. A cool $60 billion dollars from the $789 billion dollar stimulus bill would tighten up the California cash crunch sufficiently.

Again, its in the name of public demand, so the rules of the game are still that

you can never be mad at the seller, so long as the buyer is buying.

There are plenty of tiwsts and turns in this literal version of this feature film known as  Total Recall , yet I believe that it really all boils down to that one key word, which is priority.

Reading along with writing, in my opinion, is fundamental, and I am willing to bet that those with the highest degree of literacy, will end up with the advantage and greatest potential for survival.
Whatever the rules are, new or old, laws, billing statements, and contracts,  are all written by some and signed by and adhered to by others.

Disconnected

The subject was on my mind, so I decided to go ahead and put it in the wind on this hot summer day. I just got of the Facebook with one of my people from the old neighborhood, and came to the conclusion that this may be something of importance for some who may be experienecing something similar.

For some hard to explain reason, I have been feeling a greater and greater degree of disconnection with many people in the world at large.The reason that it stands out in my mind for me to notice is due to the fact that I am one of the most social individuals that I know, and I know quite a few people in different places who are into different things. In the early days of the internet buzz, I always expected the tool to lead to greater degrees of connectivity, and since I am fairly savvy at making connections with people, I was actually looking forward to meeting new faces from all over the planet, as new faces to me, always represent new oppurtuinites for good experiences or perhaps learning experiences.

As I ponder on some causes of this feeling, I have to trace it back to when I first began to notice the change in climate. One thing that I respect about president Obama is the fact that he stated something on the campaign trail that I have felt for years, yet even I wouldnt be as bold to open up my mouth and speak on it until he put it in the air.
He was claiming that the Bush administration used the 911 incident to scare up votes.

My story is fairly interesting when I think about it, yet you will need to wait on the book to arrive before I give it to you raw. None the less, I do recall that the feeling of disconnection did begin to appear in 2001 at the beginning of the year and then at a rapid climb after the September 11 events.It was as if I was placed back to my childhood, in which I often wondered if there really was such a thing as

and if so, why did he always feel the need to hide?
That part of the story simply reflects how people, when in fear, tend to seek boundaries of safety and comfort to isolate themselves in to keep what they are afraid of on the outside in order to stay out of harms way. I guess the emotion that describes it the best is INSECURITY. The proof is in the amount of attention was then placed on security and the funding attached to programs which provide it.

Stranger danger, since words rhyme for a reason, is another way to describe it, so that individuals began to slowly but surely isolate themselves into compartments, and allow themselves to connect with individuals who they already are familiar with  and maintain a
sense of normalcy

Like I stated before, I always look forward to the opportunity to meet new people yet when it comes to fear and the
Scary Larry/Mary routine, I always feel some form of a slow up which usually results in the form of a disconnection.

I often wonder if the reason that this continues to occur at times is really based on me being on some form of a different channel that others in my environment, or perhaps its simply out of peoples fear of being different and not fitting in wit the rest of the crowd, which would lead to the same state of disconnection that I experience on greater levels as time progresses. While the technology, which allows connection is now greater nearly 10 years into the new century, it seems to be geared torwards providing security to people by keeping them connected to the people that they are already familiar with and not allowing them to encouraging new connections. My favorite example of course are the young women that I see in continuous conversations on mobile phones or texting, as the question in my mind would be if that is actually some form of a growth stunt which limits the possibilities of meeting new people in the name of offering security with the familiar?

Im just working it all out in my own mind simultaneously, so please excuse the rambling.The old fashioned saying is that

Your comfort zone is a trap.

With my logical and analytical mind working at peak levels, I would have to tie in the fact that the experts state that most of the problem with the economy has to do with human emotion, which is why you hear popular buzz words such as consumer confidence and
financial market stability.It would be some cold game if it was a double fear trap tactic to show that fear of the unfamiliar is on one end, and fear of the worseing conditions from that which is familiar  on the other, or as the old folks would say

Damned if you DO,
Damned if you DONT.


I could go on for quite a while on this subject and perhaps I will add it to some of my yet to be released  manuscripts. I will just conclude that the code with President Obama in regards to that buzz word known as CHANGE would add up to state that doing the smae thing in the same way, over and over and each time expecting a different result is often classified as INSANITY, which is why he just so happens to fit the part well, since his name as well as the name of his father happens to be
Barack Whos Sane Obama.

In closing, if you are an American, you know the saying as well as the feeling when you hear it.

On Walter Cronkite

The legend has graduated, 1916-2009
and I figured it best to pay my respects, as it is related to the industry that I am working in, which is broadcast journalism.

I was still a youngin when Cronkite retired back in 1981, yet his name still held weight  many years after his retirement.

What I see in his life that is admirable to me, is his love and enjoyment of his work, and his love for the people that he served. It was a genuine love that can only be realized when someone loves enough to tell it like it is according to how they really believe it to be, while still holding the opinions of others as valid.

When you can carry enough clout to sign off with the phrase,

And Thats How It Is.

and have enough certainty in your psyche to have it be recognized as such by millions of people, I would have to take my hat off to the man and continue to study the methods used to make such a thing a reality.
