Self-Image
A person’s self-image is the mental picture, generally of a kind that is quite resistant to change, that depicts not only details that are potentially available to objective investigation by others (height, weight, hair color, gender, I.Q. score, etc.), but also items that have been learned by that person about himself or herself, either from personal experiences or by internalizing the judgments of others. A simple definition of a person’s self-image is their answer to the question “What do you believe people think about you?”.

Self-image may consist of three types:

Self-image resulting from how the individual sees himself or herself.
Self-image resulting from how others see the individual.
Self-image resulting from how the individual perceives others see him or her.

These three types may or may not be an accurate representation of the person. All, some or none of them may be true.

A more technical term for self-image that is commonly used by social and cognitive psychologists is self-schema. Like any schema, self-schemas store information and influence the way we think and remember. For example, research indicates that information which refers to the self is preferentially encoded and recalled in memory tests, a phenomenon known as “Self-referential encoding”. Self-schemas are also considered the traits people use to define themselves, they draw information about the self into a coherent scheme.

Authentically speaking, at the end of the day, this whole selfie concept seems to be what its really all about for a large number of individuals in this digital era, and you know what??? We aint even mad @cha!

A simple tweeking of some words and rearranging of some letters points to why this new favorite pastime has such an important role in the daily existence of so many individuals in modern society, and it is as stated….. “Self(ie) Image”.

The Wikipedia description above gives us enough data to put 2 and 2 together and come up with an answer of 22 by showing us that what most of us think about ourselves has much to do with the type of input that we receive from others that we internalize throughout our lives, as if social media is starting souls off from scratch as a blank page for the sake of having the world fill in the blanks for us, and lets just say that yours truly as the author believes that extra care should be placed on the decision of exactly who we allow to fill in this blank and give value to their opinions, with an awareness of the individual viewer’s own true self image and concept in mind.

With all of the intellectual mumbo jumbo out of the way, lets get focused on what is really important yet simple to understand at the same time, which is our image, and lets imagine a way to make this work most effectively as a social media revolution, that we can just add to the growing list of valuable different perspectives to consider.

Osama bin Laden

Greetings Earthlings and Welcome Home!

Between us as friends, ever since I learned to read and right, I have had a fascination with characters and the ability to create and develop them with the use of my imagination, and as I grew in age and wisdom, I grew even more intrigued with the ability that someone somewhere that is responsible for public programming has to create and invoke an emotional impact for better or worse in the direction of love or fear upon the minds, hearts, and souls of a viewing audience by simply showing them an image or images along with an attached storyline, of an individual or group of individuals whom none of the audience members have ever met or witnessed with their very own eyes for a firsthand account which overtime develops into a greater story known as his-story, and what I myself label as a different perspective to consider.

As of just recently, Facebook has added a “looking for” option under the emoticon status update for users to easily and directly communicate their needs to the users on the other end of the line who are on the receiving end of the message, yet we can find no “official” tech write up about the new feature leaving us to have to create one for ourselves with some easy to understand urban lingo, so lets see what we can come with up together, shall we?

Simply put, while scrolling through the options, with some serious and some humorous search listings, yours truly came to the conclusion that in life, in all actuality, whatever someone is looking for, is what someone else on the planet has, is, or can do, and whatever someone has, is, or can do, is what someone somewhere is searching for, which is what I believe led to the creation of human communication to begin with, which was to exchange data regarding supply and demand, so we hope that this non technical layman’s description will reach those who are looking for and in need of it as well as another different perspective to consider.

Our Lady of Guadalupe (Spanish: Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe), also known as the Virgin of Guadalupe (Spanish: Virgen de Guadalupe), is a title of the Virgin Mary associated with a celebrated pictorial image housed in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in México City.

Official Catholic accounts state that on the morning of December 9, 1531, Juan Diego saw an apparition of a young girl at the Hill of Tepeyac, near Mexico City. Speaking to him in Nahuatl, the girl asked that a church be built at that site in her honor; from her words, Juan Diego recognized the girl as the Virgin Mary. Diego told his story to the Spanish Archbishop of Mexico City, Fray Juan de Zumárraga, who instructed him to return to Tepeyac Hill, and ask the “lady” for a miraculous sign to prove her identity. The first sign was the Virgin healing Juan’s uncle. The Virgin told Juan Diego to gather flowers from the top of Tepeyac Hill. Although December was very late in the growing season for flowers to bloom, Juan Diego found Castilian roses, not native to Mexico, on the normally barren hilltop. The Virgin arranged these in his peasant cloak or tilma. When Juan Diego opened his cloak before Bishop Zumárraga on December 12, the flowers fell to the floor, and on the fabric was the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Well, you see, what had happened was……

This month, I made the decision to go ahead and really step my game up so I made some preparations that were completed around the middle of the month, which was last week, and I went over to the local B of A branch to conduct some transactions that would have set me up in a better position.

Once I got there, in the morning after waiting in a long line, the bank teller gets to telling me about some abstract fees that I was not at all expecting and would have made the transaction way less significant than I was anticipating, and I explained the logic of my position, and the teller agreed but said that there was nothing that she could do because of how the computer is set up not allowing her to make the simple yet necessary adjustment to override the extra fee that is based on a very minor technicality.

I decided to leave and see if I could find a better deal elsewhere even though eventually, I would have to come back to B or A, but I decided to just use my conversation and explain the situation more thoroughly to another bank teller, and I told the host that greets people at the door what the situation was and she agreed and pointed me to a teller that she believed could resolve the issue.

The second teller pretty much gave me the same story in more professional detail yet understood the scenario and my position in more professional detail as well, so I simply conducted part of the transaction while I was there and paid the smaller fee that was required, then went to a couple of other locations to see if I could secure a better arrangement.

To no avail, as the other location wanted to charge an even higher fee, and the second location unable to process the transaction at all, I decided that I would just need to take the loss on this one transaction and charge it to the game in the future.

This week on Friday August 22, was when I finally got around to conducting the rest of the transaction expecting to simply pay the additional fees for the transactions, and when I got to the teller window, she asked about my previous experience, and told her about the fees that I had already paid, and she said “yeah, I see that here, and I was going to ask you about that.”

She then said, ” you know, since you already paid the smaller fee that is necessary up front, I am going to go ahead and cancel out the remaining fees. I am a supervisor here and the other tellers were not able to override the fees on their terminals, to which I replied “wow, my luck is good today!”

She smiled and we completed the transaction without the additional fees that I this time went in expecting to pay, and I asked her what her name was so I could thank her by name.

She smiled even wider as she saw that I was looking at her name badge but could not see her name because her long hair was covering it, so she casually pulled back her hair and gracefully pushed her shoulder out so that I could see the name Lupe printed on the very top of her badge but not the empty white space where the names usually are placed.

I told her my thoughts with her name and she told me that I was welcomed, and it turned out to be a wonderful day from that point.

Later, I pondered on why the good luck came my way as with my life there is always some form of a mystery in the smallest matters, and from what I know about Catholicism and Latino culture in California, the name Lupe is actually short for Guadalupe, which is the actual name of the woman in one, the if not the most popular Virgin Mary depictions on the planet, who she, the teller who actually helped me significantly but did not have to was named after, so…….yeah, with that said and done,

Isis Unveiled
Isis Unveiled: A Master-Key to the Mysteries of Ancient and Modern Science and Theology, published in 1877, is a book of esoteric philosophy and Helena Petrovna Blavatsky’s first major work and a key text in her Theosophical movement.

The work was originally entitled The Veil of Isis, a title which remains on the heading of each page, but had to be renamed once Blavatsky discovered that this title had already been used for an 1861 Rosicrucian work by W.W. Reade. Isis Unveiled is divided into two volumes. With all the the news channels and online news outlets flashing the name ISIS across the screen, it brought to my recollection the popular book that I read some years back as listed in the header image, and believe that its as good of a time as any to promote the book as the title affirms with the current newsflashes.

The deep part about the scenario is when we have yet to hear the POTUS Barack Hussein Obama, refer to the opposition as ISIS.We have heard him say ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant), but not as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) which I conclude is a more foreign sounding African/Middle Eastern name that attracts more fear in the media circuits, but being that the name OBAMA is actually of East African origin as is ISIS, he can most likely move the show forward with this minor technicality, being the Harvard Law graduate, constitutional law attorney that he is.
