American Idol-Season Six-Final 2
American Idol, this country’s most popular singing competition that has the power to every year turn wannabes into people that others now want to be is down to the final 2 for season 6. The 2 remaining contestants are Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis.
Jordin Sparks is a 17 year old high school student from Glendale, Arizona, who auditioned in Seattle Washington. Jordin, may look familiar already, because in 2006, she won a plus size model search ran by the clothing store, Torrid, putting her in a full page ad in the December 2006 issue of Seventeen magazine along with other promotional advertisements for Torrid. Jordin, has also been a contestant on shows such as American Juniors, Star Search, and America’s Most Talented Kids, and in 2003, she recorded a Christian music album.
Blake Lewis is a 25 year old from Bothell, Washington, who auditioned in Seattle, Washington. Blake works as a full time musician with skills in singing, songwriting, Beat boxing, and playing the piano, guitar, and drums. He also has interest in photography and producing.
Both of these contestants are already winners, because with American Idol, you don’t have to win, to become a star. So far all of the top 2 finalists have continued with their singing careers by releasing albums, and continuing to be memorable performers. (Season 1-Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini, Season 2-Reuben Studdard and Clay Aiken, Season 3-Fantasia Barrino and Diana DeGarmo, Season 4-Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice, and Season Five-Taylor Hicks and Katherine McPhee.) None of these performers had to go work a regular 9 to 5 job after American Idol, they all got to continue to pursue their dreams in the music industry.
