Monaco
The Principality of Monaco, more commonly known as Monaco, is a city state and one of the European micro states. It is located between the Mediterranean Sea and France along the French Riviera, near the French border with Italy.
Monaco is the most densely populated independent country in the world and the world’s second-smallest independent country.

 

One of Monaco’s main sources of income is tourism; many are attracted to its casino and pleasant climate. Furthermore, a major new construction project extended the pier used by cruise ships in the main harbour. The Principality has successfully sought to diversify into services and small, high-value-added, non-polluting industries such as cosmetics and biothermics.

Hip-hop culture in Monaco
Monte-Carlo is known for its high class restaurants, glamorous hotels, flashy cars and casinos. Now you can add one more category to that, hip-hop. No, it wasnt G-Unit who put Monte-Carlo on the hip-hop map. It is Hiphopville Entertainment makes history in Monaco, Monte-Carlo.
Hiphopvilles founder J Cathey along with his associates Greg N and Doc C from New York have single handedly brought all night USA influenced hip-hop & R&B to the South of France. Throwing four exclusive Hiphopville Hiphop RnB events Dec 22, 23, 24 and Dec 30th 2005 that were all sold out, proved that there is a high interest in urban music in Monaco and the French Riviera, an area that was mostly known for house dance music.
These first 4 events shed a new perspective on the hip-hop culture. We are about doing positive things, showing Monaco that hip-hop is larger than life and not all about violence, drugs and guns. Its a world wide phenomenon and we at Hiphopville are continuing to build that bridge from the USA to the world so that everyone can experience the hip-hop culture and the positive vibes of expression that it brings, says founder of www.Hiphopville.com , J Cathey.

Recently world renowned rapper 50 Cent filmed a video clip Window Shopper that has opened the urban worlds eyes to this small exclusive Principality of Monaco.

Funny thing is, I have had an office and vacation home here since 2000 and my friends would always mistake me for living in Morocco and I had to constantly correct them letting them know where Monaco was located and what its all about, but now after that video everyone knows where Monaco is or at least that it exists.

With the seemingly year round events, Formula 1 racing, world music awards, Cannes Film Festival and more, Hiphopville Entertainment plans to cater to the visiting high profile entertainers that often visit the South of France that will appreciate the culture of hip-hop and R&B.
