Meet America's Next Top Model Finalist- Mercedes Yvette

Mercedes Yvette Scelba-Shorte, the half African American half Italian American Beauty from Valencia, California that many thought should have won cycle 2 of America’s Next Top Model, but instead was the first runner up has still been pursuing a career in both modeling and acting.

Since her time on America’s Next Top Model, Mercedes has modeled for; Wedding Dresses Magazines, Lucky Magazine, Kohl’s, Payless Shoes, Anchor Blue, Dell, Sears, Target.com, Halston, Mervyn’s, Bellsouth, etc.

Mercedes acting credits include; The Bold and The Beautiful, One on One, All of Us, etc.

Most importantly, Mercedes has become an inspiration to many people by revealing during cycle 2 that she suffers from the chronic autoimmune disease Lupus, that can at times cause sufferers to feel fatigue, muscle pain, joint pain, fever, etc. but was still able to be a fierce competitor on the show. After the show, Mercedes became a spokesperson for the National Lupus Foundation and has appeared in Lupus Now Magazine.

Mercedes is also an inspiration to young women with big dreams, especially those young women who have challenges that they need to deal with such as illness.

One of Mercedes upcoming events will be as a celebrity guest at a model search in Lake Elsinore, California.

If you are an aspiring model or one of Mercedes’ fans, then come to the Lake Elsinore Outlet Center on Saturday, June 30, 2007 to compete in a model search and meet Mercedes.
