While Bad Medina cosmetics is starting with lip-glosses, Medina has her sights set on a big future for the company including expanding to make other cosmetic products and eventually her own clothing line.

In 2014, Doralie Medina, personal massage therapist for Floyd Mayweather, will be opening up her own line of cosmetics called Bad Medina.Cosmetics The company will start by selling a series of lip-glosses designed by Medina followed by a full cosmetics line. The announcement for the company came after boxing superstar and highest paid athlete Floyd Money Mayweather made a $100,000 investment to get the company off the ground.

Medina grew up one of four siblings in the San Fernando Valley region of California. She is part of the first generation of her family born in the United States as her parents immigrated to the United States from Mexico. Her parents separated when she was 6-years-old and she was raised by her mother, who supported the family by working three jobs.

After graduating high school, Medina worked briefly as a lifeguard before pursuing becoming a nurse, which led her to her finding her calling as a massage therapist. I just wanted to be able to bring joy to peoples lives,she said. Medina worked for several years as a massage therapist, taking on many private clients and becoming quite adept at the profession.

Medina met Mayweather through their mutual friend, Jackie Long, in 2011. Mayweather hired Doralie soon after, as he needed a massage therapist for his upcoming fight against Victor Ortiz. This would be a big opportunity for Doralie, but also an intimidating one that meant upheaval in her life. After consulting with her older sister, who told her not to pass up a once in a lifetime opportunity, she agreed to join The Money Team.

Through her years working with Mayweather, Medina says she has become a stronger person and she kept her long-time dream alive of having her own business. She saved her money carefully and worked towards this dream and started getting samples made of her lip-gloss designs. She eventually brought the samples to Mayweather, who was impressed by the products and Medina’s motivation. He agreed to invest in the company and to help connect her with people who could bring her dream to fruition.

Floyd saw how involved I was and how seriously I was taking this,said Medina. I want to make women feel more beautiful and realize that sexy doesn’t automatically mean sex. It means that you are comfortable in your own skin. I hope to help make people feel that way.
