Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music Vevo Showcase – July 12, 2011

Something major is about to take place in the world of New Media as music figure Kanye West has teamed up with the online music video and entertainment portal Vevo to introduce Kanye’s G.O.O.D recording label that has recently partnered with Island Def Jam to bring us an online listening party of sorts which broadcasts a showcase that took place earlier in the year in Austin Texas, beginning on July 12, 2011.

Now for the inside scoop.
It is all in preparation of the upcoming collaborative album with Jay Z and Kanye West entitled
Watch The Throne, and the partnership with Vevo is significant as the company is at the forefront of an effort to ensure that major recording labels can get their artists music to the fans and at the same time gain some from of monetary benefit through advertisement as a Vevo video whether on YouTube or at their home site requires that viewers watch the advertisement before viewing the clip without the option of skipping out on the bargain as a viewer and watch it all for $free.99

We also know that both Jay Z and Kanye West “Tweet” at a rate of what I would guestimate to be less than 100 times per year combined leaving some of us curious, independent thinking entrepreneurs to ponder about the reasons why.

Ranked by comScore as the #1 Music platform on the web, VEVO was named by Billboard as one of the top startups of 2010 and received the prestigious Advertising Age Media Vanguard Award for Online Video Platform Launch of the Year. Turning online music programming on its heels just one year into launch, VEVO’s “meteoric rise” (Mediapost) has been applauded by the Associated Press as a “striking example of the music video’s dramatic comeback” while its mobile launch was called “stellar” by Mashable.

VEVO features the most extensive catalog of premium music content found anywhere on the web thanks to deals with such leading music companies as Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, EMI Music, ABKCO, Beggars Group, Big Machine Records, CBS Interactive Music Group, Concord Music Group, Hollywood Records, Lyric Street Records, Razor & Tie Entertainment, Ultra Records, Walt Disney Records, Wind-up Records, Caroline Distribution, Entertainment One Distribution, Fontana Distribution, INgrooves, IODA, RED, SAAVN, The Orchard, and the MERLIN Network among many others.
