There appears to be a growing interest in the subject of prostitution and the Internet to the extent that the new movie on The Lifetime Channel entitled “The Craigslist Killer” is generating a tremendous buzz on the social media circuits.

I actually got the news on Facebook regarding the movie via a link to an article written by an ex sex worker/grade school teacher turned writer named Melissa Petro who is now an Internet celebrity who contributes to a growing list of popular online publications including The Huffington Post.

Melissa Petro is a researcher, writer, educator, feminist and former
sex worker, published in Research for Sex Work and Sex Work Matters: Power and Intimacy in the Sex Industry (Zed Books) as well as in Hos, Hookers, Call Girls and Rent Boys: Professionals Writing on Love, Sex, Money and Work (Soft Skull). Her work appears online at Post Road, The Nervous Breakdown, Whiskey Dregs and TheRumpus.net.

My personal take on the matters at hand is simply to say that whether its books like Hos, Hookers, Call Girls and Rent Boys, or Craigslist Killer movie adaptations or Lifestyle Magazines like PimpHop.com the same rule still applies, which is that even online it aint easy, yet the show still goes on and on.

A different perspective to consider.
