Reality Television- Part One
Reality television frequently portrays a modified and highly influenced form of reality, utilizing sensationalism to attract viewers to generate advertising profits. Participants are often placed in exotic locations or abnormal situations, and are sometimes coached, to act in certain scripted ways by off-screen “story editors” or “segment producers,” with the portrayal of events and speech manipulated and contrived to create an illusion of reality through editing and other post-production techniques.
This is just an intro of whats to come and I hope that you have some interest in the new version of television programming. It hits on may levels for myself, as a writer as well as a, whatever you classify me as, a Rylan I guess.
It came to my attention earlier in the evening when I was vwatching  a few of the
Town Hall Meetings across the U.S. regarding health care legislation, and the scenarios seemed to remind me of a cross between Reality T.V. and day time talk shows. Whoever came up with the idea of casting impeached ex Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich in a reality show filmed in Costa Rica known as
Im  A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here
was on to something, and although his legal issues prevented him from participating, his wife is, or was, actually a cast member on the reality game show Survivor.
The journalists who were recently brought home from North Korea were also making some form of a reality documentary for the popular
new media site
before their arrest and imprisionment.
Im going get to the bottom of this, or the top, depending on how you see things, so stay tuned because you never know what we may come up with, but you DO know that it will be something(*****) Your feedback is also welcomed and greatly appriciated.
